1.8.18: I stepped on the scale this morning and one week into #RI28 I’m down 10 pounds, well really 9.8, but give me a little slack  will you  🙂 Eager to share my results, I created a side by side image, went to the Focus Implement Triumph Facebook page & shared it with the world.

Well, with the business world that is, which mostly consists of people that are not my close friends or family. Those people wouldn’t recognize me if we bumped into each other and they definitely don’t know my ups & downs with the struggle to lose weight.

Next, I logged into my personal account to share my joy and the pic with friends and family & I hesitated. My heart started racing and fear jumped in. Not only did I hesitate, but I paused and came here to share the experience with you all. I have so many emotions flowing through me right now. What will they think of me when they see the number on the scale and realize that I weigh over 200 pounds? Do I remove the picture and just say that I’ve lost 10 pounds in a week? If I do that, there will be celebration with no judgment.

Stop Erica. Take a deep breath. Ok… Take a few more deep breaths and remember why you’re doing this. If my goal is to Slay & Get Paid, then I must move past the fear and be willing to share the good, the bad & the ugly with the world. A quote just came to mind… 

I’ve never put myself out there to my friends/family on full display so posting this side by side is my chance to do something I’ve never done… Your turn.

1.9.18: Sharing how fat I am with my family friends actually wasn’t as bad as I initially thought. My friends/family were very happy for me & fully supportive of weight loss goals. My experience yesterday taught me to embrace those things that are embarassing to me. Rather than being embarassed about being overweight, I’m embracing it because I realize that it’s a blessing in disguise. If I wasn’t living this experience, then I wouldn’t be where I am right now and I wouldn’t be walking in my purpose, which is to empower you to Focus, Implement & Triumph in slaying your goals.

Beginning today, what’s one area that you’ve been embarrassed of that you can now embrace?

1.10.18: Today was huge for me! I met one of my end of month goals and it only took me 10 days. #RI28 is set up so that you complete an exercise for 40 seconds, which is then followed by a 20 second break. Exercise. Break, etc for 8 minutes. Then you repeat the cycle three more times.

On my first day of working out with the #RI28 Challenge, I was only able to complete 5 or 6 burpees in 40 seconds. After I finished huffing and puffing I told myself that I would be able to complete 10 burpees in 40 seconds before the end of the month.

TODAY I DID IT! I was able to complete 10 burpees during round 1 & 2. I got a little tired by those last two rounds, but I was still able to get 8 burpees in each time. #Progress It proves that I’m getting stronger. YAY!!!

1.11.18: As a woman, being on your period SUCKS!!! Not only do you feel bloated and your stomach hurts like hell from those cramps, it drains your energy. That’s how I’ve been feeling today. Drained. But I’m not going to let it stop me. I have a workout to get in & I’m going to get it done. 

How do you motivate yourself to workout when your body just doesn’t feel like it?

I could use some tips. Getting through today’s workout required me to take a few more breaks than usual. These cramps are a workout killer, but truth is, they haven’t been as bad as usual. Hopefully working out regularly will have the benefit of lighter periods. Fingers crossed! Leave a comment & let me know how you motivate yourself to workout when your body just doesn’t feel like it. 1.12.18: Day 11 of #RI28 is the day that makes you want to smack somebody’s mama! No really, it makes you want to quit or at least it made me want to. It was just that tough. It took lots of positive self-talk, good music, a few short breaks in between breaks & constant prayer for me to make it through but I DID IT! Now to a HOT shower & quick nap before I do the daycare pick up. Adios!

1.13.18: I don’t understand it.  After losing 10 pounds last week I have been stuck. When I say stuck, I mean STUCK! I haven’t even lost 0.1 pounds. Maybe it’s because its that time of month, but I’m working to hard not to see any numbers on the scale. I know… I’ve heard it before…

Throw the scale away. Just stick with it. The pounds will eventually come off…

The number on the scale doesn’t matter because you’re losing inches….

As long as you’re losing inches, that’s all that matters…

Muscle weights more than fat so you’re probably gaining muscle…

Man, F*** That BS! I’m way to early in this FIT journey and have too much weight to lose to have hit a plateau already. It’s been 5 days since my last weigh-in and I’ve worked out EVERYDAY so far. Something has got to give!

Ok Erica… Calm down & reassess.

What can you do differently? How can you tweak the plan so that you get the results that you’re looking for?

Looking over my FIT plan for the month, I’ve definitely been hitting my workout targets. #RI28 wears me out so I’m not ready to add additional workouts to my calendar yet.

I’ve done very good sticking to 5 meals a day with two of them being Vi Shape Meal Replacement Shakes. Coffee with cream every morning… It’s probably not the best choice but I just can’t give it up. Maybe one day, but not today…. Fruit…. I’ve been eating a piece of fruit at 3 of meals. Maybe I can cut down on my fruit intake by replacing the fruit that I eat at breakfast with steel cut oatmeal. Sounds like a plan. I’ll give it a try!

1.14.18: First of all, steel cut oatmeal SUCKS! It doesn’t taste nasty, but it definitely isn’t good. It actually doesn’t have much taste at all, but IT WORKS! Replacing fruit for oatmeal at breakfast kept me full longer. I actually had to force myself to eat dinner because I wasn’t hungry at all. The best part is that I LOST 1.8 pounds overnight. YAY!!!! My goal from this point forward is 1-2 pounds a week. Losing weight at that pace is healthy, long-lasting and I’ll still reach my 2018 goal to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year.
