3 Ways to Win in Life & Achieve Goals

Everyone wants to win in life, wouldn’t you agree? Regardless of this desire to win, when you look around many people are losing… losing in their finances, losing in their relationships, losing in their health, losing in their spirit.

I’d even be willing to bet that there has been a time in your life where you’ve felt like you were losing. Chances are that you may even be feeling like that right now. If you could implement three simple steps that would drastically change your life and move you into the winner’s circle, you’d do it. Right? If your answer is ‘yes,’ then there’s no need to wait. Let’s get started.

To begin, we’re going to take a few minutes to look at your life in four specific areas. For each area, answer the associated questions to the best of your ability.

    • Finances: How much money do you earn? How much money do you have saved? How much debt you currently have? Do you consider yourself to be winning in your finances?
    • Health/Wellness: Do you consider yourself to be healthy? Do you workout regularly? Do you generally eat healthy foods? Do you consider yourself to be winning in your health and wellness?
    • Relationships: Do you have healthy relationships with friends or family? Do you feel overwhelmed because you give so much in relationships without getting anything in return? Do you currently have the love life that you desire? Do you consider yourself to be winning in your relationships?
    • Spirituality: Do you spend quality time with God? Do you spend time reading the Word daily? Do you have healthy relationships with other people that share your beliefs?

Considering your answers to those questions, rate yourself on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 meaning that you are completely satisfied and consider yourself to be winning in that area of your life.

So what were the results? If you’ve felt like you were losing lately, then I’m willing to bet that you rated yourself pretty low in some of those areas.

Choose the area that you scored the lowest on and write one practice that you could begin implementing today that would improve your rating. I want you to begin implementing that one practice today and remain consistent over the next 30 days. I promise you that if you focus on this one practice and implement it daily, you will triumph and begin winning in your life.

The simple exercise that you just completed provides an example of the FIT Plan. These 3 simple steps, Focus. Implement. Triumph!, will change your life and allow you to go from losing to winning in every area of your life. Let’s take a deeper dive into each step of the FIT Plan.

Step 1: FOCUS

“The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.” ~Bruce Lee

Winning in life begins with a decision to pursue your dreams at all costs. Making this decision is the defining moment of the FIT Plan. It determines whether you win or lose because it sets the stage for everything that is to come next. [ctt template=”11″ link=”fazot” via=”yes” nofollow=”yes”]Once you make the decision to pursue your dreams, you must have a laser-like focus and determination to cross the finish line, no matter how long it takes.[/ctt] There will be many factors that attempt to stand in the way of your success, much of which will be your own fear. Fear of failure. Fear of taking a huge risk. Fear of what people will think. Fear of rejection. Fear of…. (you can fill in the blank). Fear typically shows up as an excuse that hinders your progress, but you have the ability to conquer fear. (Read ‘Got Dreams? Turn Them into Reality with 3 Simple Steps‘ to learn how to conquer fear and pursue your dreams. )

Now that you’ve made the decision to pursue your dreams. the next step is to determine the area that you will focus on. In order to maximize your results, I strongly recommend that you only focus on one area at time. As a matter of fact, at FIT we teach that to FOCUS means Follow One Course Until Successful.

Right now, take a minute to review your ratings from earlier and choose one of the areas (Finances, Health/Wellness, Relationships or Spirituality) to focus on.

It is extremely important to have a clear and concise vision that aligns with your focus area. As a matter of fact, there is an entire lesson in 25 Days to Win dedicated to developing a clear vision for your life and I’ve converted that lesson into a 10 step tutorial made especially for you. The tutorial, ‘10 Steps to Creating a Digital Vision Board’ is included in your free FIT Kit. Download the tutorial, create your vision board and share it with me on the FIT Fam Facebook or Instagram (@focus.implement.triumph or use hashtag #fitfamwins) . I’d love to see your vision board and support you as you achieve your goals.

After you identify a focus area, the next step is to develop a goal. At FIT, we believe that developing SMART goals maximizes your results so we teach you strategies that you can use to ensure that the goals that you develop are Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Timed (SMART). Developing SMART goals increases the likelihood that you will not only achieve them, but gives you an advantage that may even allow you to surpass your own expectations.

Currently my focus area is finances. In order to increase my finances, I developed the goal to increase my streams of income to 5 in the next 6 months. Does my goal pass the SMART test?

  • 🗹 Is it Specific? Yes!  I’m increasing my streams of income.
  • 🗹 Is it Measurable? Yes! Increase it to 5
  • 🗹 Is it Achievable? Yes! It requires a lot of hard work, but I believe in my ability & know without a doubt that I can get it done in 6 months
  • 🗹 Is it Realistic? Yes! It is realistic to have 5 different streams of income
  • 🗹 Is it Timed? Yes! I have 6 months to get it done

Developing a SMART goal is one of the many topics that is covered in 25 Days to Win. This course will provide you with tools, resources and support to achieve goals and begin winning in less than a month.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” ~Antoine de Saint-Exupery

Implement is where the real work comes in. It’s during this step of the FIT Plan that you will turn your goal into action.

In order to be successful, your action plan must include three important components.

  1. Dates
  2. Data
  3. Reflection

Including exact dates in which each action step is to be accomplished is beneficial in several ways. First of all, it gives you a specific point to focus on. When creating Focus. Implement. Triumph!, I developed a step in my action plan to launch the website, blog and 2 products in 30 days. It was a very aggressive deadline, but establishing an exact date allowed me to have a laser like focus on achieving my goal of adding additional streams of income.

In the course you will be provided with a workbook that includes the FIT Action Plan Template. The FIT Action Plan allows you to list data sources that you will use to track your results. When tracking my goal to have five streams of income within six months, I analyzed the total number of income streams that I had at the end of each month. By the end of the first month, I had added two additional streams of income. Using the FIT Action Plan made it simple to track my data and gave me real time results.

Last, but certainly not least, the FIT Plan provides the opportunity for frequent reflection. Frequent can be as often as daily, but at the very least you make time to reflect every month. By identifying your glows, the areas that you’re doing well in and your grows, the areas that need to improve upon, you are empowered to make the necessary adjustments to get it right. The practice of reflection allows you to perfect your action plan. During the thirty days that I was developing the FIT Plan and preparing to launch the website, I made time to reflect at the end of every week. After the first week, I realized that my work was scattered so I sat down and created a checklist that included every task that needed to be accomplished over the remaining three weeks. That checklist became essential to my success. It kept me focused and was my prized possession throughout the entire process.

Triumph is the fun part. After you’ve worked hard, it’s time to celebrate! It’s important to not only celebrate the big accomplishments, but to celebrate the small ones as well. The day that I launched the Focus. Implement. Triumph! website and added two streams of income, I celebrated like never before despite the fact that I still had three more to add. I invited my family and friends over and we PARTIED! Not only was it my birthday, but it was the day that I finally gave birth to my dream. A dream that had been in my mind for years was finally realized. Oh what joy it is to finally start winning!

Now it’s your time to win. Are you ready to Focus, Implement and Triumph? Yay! I’m so excited for you and happy to join you in this journey.
